John began helping people with their finances when he was in college, 15 years ago, and at that point, he didn't even practice what he preached. That changed when John met his future wife, Andrea, and realized he wanted to start a family. People continued to ask John for financial advice and after their daughter Addie was born, John began working at his father's investment firm to see if this was a direction that God wanted for his life. The Gift Ministry has allowed John to use his analytical and inquisitive mind, combined with a strong teaching capacity, to help people identify how God can use their financial responsibility to further His purposes.
John has a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Ohio State, and also studied agriculture. John has worked for a decade at Seagull Bags, an outdoor bag maker, as the financial and organizational head. Currently, he still helps out with money management and process implementation.
He also plays Tenor Banjo, Bouzouki, and sings in a traditional Irish group called The Drowsy Lads, which has played throughout the midwest at various large Irish festivals and theaters.
John likes music, camping, hiking, reading, woodworking, gardening, climbing, cycling, and anything that stretches his brain and gets him outside!
